Program Overview
The nursing educator post-master's certificate is designed to provide advanced knowledge related to the scope of practice for academic and staff development nurse educators.
Coursework focuses on the role of the nurse educator and responsibilities related to teaching, scholarship, service, clinical excellence, and issues and trends impacting the profession. You will explore a variety of learning styles, needs, and characteristics of diverse learners, and competency-based instruction, including new trends in creative instructional technology strategies and techniques. The ethical, legal, and leadership dimensions of the nurse educator are integrated throughout the curriculum. Courses are offered in a flexible and 100% online format.
The nurse educator internship course provides an opportunity to integrate knowledge and skills learned in the classroom setting into practice. Internship placements are arranged individually through the Cummings School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Experiences are selected with the student to meet course and personal objectives in academia and in organizations.
