Endicott College’s faculty will take center stage at the upcoming Seaside Symposium, the second annual event celebrating research, scholarship, and innovation. Sponsored by Academic Affairs, the symposium will take place on Tuesday, February 27, at the Klebanoff Auditorium and surrounding campus locations, offering a platform for faculty members to showcase their groundbreaking work across disciplines.

The event will begin with Coffee & Connect at 9:30 a.m. in the LSB Lobby, allowing faculty and attendees to network over coffee and pastries before diving into a day of thought-provoking presentations and discussions.

Sabbatical Presentations
Kicking off the academic presentations, Dr. Weican Xiao will discuss his sabbatical research at 10 a.m. in the Klebanoff Auditorium with a talk titled “Working with an AI Company: Distributed Computing with IoT Application.” Dr. Xiao will highlight his work in developing a new computing architecture that seamlessly integrates edge computing nodes, IoT devices, and cloud computing to optimize large-scale AI and IoT applications.

At 11 a.m., Dr. Charlotte Gordon will present “I Speak of Wrongs”: How Lucy Stone, Frances Harper, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton Created the Women’s Movement and Almost Destroyed It (Crown, 2026). Dr. Gordon’s forthcoming book explores the complex history of the 19th-century women’s movement through the perspectives of three key figures, examining its early interracial roots and later struggles with racism. Her talk will offer insight into both the historical significance of these women and the challenges of writing for a general audience.
