An important component of the program is the immediate and on-going application of learning in work or volunteer settings. Students develop a greater understanding of the theory, practice and power of creative process, both as a learning tool and methodology and as an effective agent for change and growth. Students develop enhanced skills for utilizing the arts (music, movement, drama, poetry, visual arts, story telling, digital arts) through arts-based research and in the development of curriculum, treatment approaches, leadership skills, and community development.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the program students will:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the personal creative process through artistic methods
- Create an arts-integrated curriculum
- Integrate creativity and imagination as vital sources of learning
