Professional and Personal Development

Based upon transformational effects of the creative process, students discover the power and potential of the arts through the authenticity of their own experience.  As students gain confidence that they can create in any of these mediums, they are encouraged to create and apply applications to their educational settings.  
 

Dynamic Studio Residency

The Studio Residency is a dynamic, one-week, studio-based immersion in creative art process. Students explore elements of creativity through individual and group work.  The Residency is an opportunity for students to draw on imaginative resources within a stimulating, supportive environment that encourages artistic expression. 

Instructional Model

The Arts and Learning Program is delivered in an experiential, adult education model.  Affordable classes are delivered on weekends, on a monthly basis, to accommodate the schedules of working professionals.  Instructors are practitioners who work as facilitators to engage each student in active individual and group learning processes.  This instructional approach emphasizes the integration of theory and practice of creative process for application in the context of actual situations and problems that students face in their careers. 

Deep Learning

Deep learning in the program supports development of skills identified with 21st Century Learning Students demystify creative process and learn how their creative process facilitates skills with productivity and accountability; leadership and responsibility; critical thinking and problem solving; communication; collaboration; creativity; innovation; flexibility and adaptability; initiative and self-direction; social and cross-cultural skills - all skills needed in contemporary local and global economies and settings.
