    Halle Library’s GullSearch brings together our library collections in one easy to use interface. It is a tool that allows users to search for and discover the majority of resources in the Endicott College Library collection using a single search box.

    • AGRICOLA

      (AGRICultural OnLine Access) serves as the catalog and index to the collections of the National Agricultural Library, as well as a primary public source for world-wide access to agricultural information. The database covers materials in all formats and periods, including printed works from as far back as the 15th century. It is the most comprehensive source of bibliographic citations covering US agricultural and life sciences information.

      A repository of digital liberal arts assignments, tools, datasets, and tutorials. Created as part of the Digital Liberal Arts and Critical Inquiry grant from the Davis Foundation by Endicott College faculty.

    • Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Library

      The ACM Digital Library is the ultimate online resource for those interested in the computing industry. It offers over 40 publications, all full-text Conference Proceedings, publication archives dating back to the 1950s, almost 2 million pages of text, more than one million bibliographic citations, and a state-of-the-art search engine.

    • BuildingGreen

      BuildingGreen is an online resource focused on building design through a lens of sustainability. It includes authoritative information on progressive building design strategies, topics and issues. BuildingGreen’s content unravels the complexities around sustainable design and green materials. New content is added to the website on a regular basis.

    • The Chronicle of Higher Education

      The Chronicle of Higher Education is the No. 1 source of news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators. Online, The Chronicle is published every weekday and is the top destination for news, advice, and jobs for people in academe. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; vibrant discussion forums; and career-building tools such as online CV management, salary databases, and more.

    • EBSCO

      Provides a wide range of bibliographic and full-text databases. Databases are designed for many topics included in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.

    • EDGAR

      EDGAR, the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system, performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Its primary purpose is to increase the efficiency and fairness of the securities market for the benefit of investors, corporations, and the economy by accelerating the receipt, acceptance, dissemination, and analysis of time-sensitive corporate information filed with the agency.

      Another general interest, academic and bibliographic set of databases. Educators will find the Educator's Reference Complete database particularly helpful.

    • Homeland Security Digital Library

      HSDL Collection (full) includes over 77,500 documents related to homeland security policy, strategy, and organizational management from a wide variety of sources including federal, state and local governments; international governments and institutions; nonprofit organizations and private entities.

    • IBISWorld

      IBISWorld is the United States' most comprehensive collection of Industry Market Research and Industry Risk Ratings. The US Industry Reports (NAICS) collection analyzes industries at the 5-digit level offering the latest content on 700 industries. Each report consists of 30 to 40 pages of key statistics and analysis on market characteristics, operating conditions, current and forecast performance, major industry participants and more. The US Industry iExpert Summaries condense the integral elements from our industry reports into bite-sized paragraphs, graphics and tables, highlighting the key issues with a Q&A section, for each of the 700 NAICS industries.

      Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service. Videos displayed here are selected by Endicott College faculty members for curricular use.

    • Material ConneXion

      Resource of materials and processes covering the fields of architecture, interior design, packaging design, retail design, industrial design, fashion, apparel & footwear, exhibition design, textile design, landscape architecture and transportation design. Includes over 5,000 materials representing eight categories: carbon-based materials, cement-based materials, ceramics, glass, metals, natural material derivatives, natural materials, and polymers. Provides comprehensive product information, technical specifications, application information, manufacturer profiles, and material images.

    • National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS)

      Established in 1972, NCJRS (National Criminal Justice Reference Service) is a federally funded resource offering justice and substance abuse information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide. NCJRS resources are available to anyone interested in crime, victim assistance, and public safety including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, educators, community leaders, and the general public. The NCJRS Abstracts Database contains summaries of the more than 200,000 criminal justice, juvenile justice, and substance abuse resources.

      The National Directory of Law Enforcement Administrators contains nearly 36,000 listings. Includes the latest contact information vital department statistics; profiles detail state, local and federal agencies.     • News & Information Literacy Digital Resource Center

      This guide provides materials and resources to help students, faculty, and interested community members evaluate and authenticate news and information. Created as part of the News & Information Literacy Across the Curriculum initiative with a grant from the Davis Foundation by Endicott College faculty.

    • Nexis Uni

      An in-depth group of databases designed to provide access to news, legal and periodical resources for all avenues of research. Formerly titled Lexis Nexis Academic.

    • Ovid

      Ovid is a leading medical research platform for nurses, doctors, students, professors, healthcare administrators, & allied health. Our subscription includes the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR). This resource is the leading journal and database for systematic reviews in health care. Ovid also contains several of our full text nursing and health journals as well as many citations and abstracts.

    • ProQuest

      ProQuest Central is the largest aggregated full-text database in the market today, with thousands of periodical titles and millions of full-text articles available. It serves as the central resource for researchers at all levels in all markets. Over 160 subjects areas are covered extensively in this product including business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, science, education, technology, humanities, social sciences, psychology and literature.

    • PubMed

      PubMed comprises more than 30 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites. Halle Library utilizes the PubMed Outside Tool. The Outside Tool is a specialized service for libraries to help make it easier to access the full text of articles found in PubMed. The Outside Tool service makes a link icon to Endicott College Library holdings available on every PubMed record.

      The SAGE Premier package includes leading international peer-reviewed titles, including high-impact research journals published on behalf of over 245 scholarly and professional societies. The journals cover a wide range of subject areas, including business, humanities, social sciences, and science, technology, and medicine, allowing libraries to support the varied teaching and research needs of their students and faculty.

      The Sports Market Place Directory provides organizational contact information with detailed descriptions. For over 20 years, this comprehensive, up-to-date directory has offered direct access to the Who, What, When & Where of the sports industry.

      For more than 20 years, clinicians around the world have relied on UpToDate as their primary resource for medical knowledge at the point of care. The knowledge contained in UpToDate is evidence-based and continuously updated, but it is not merely an aggregation and report of the latest research; UpToDate presents a comprehensive synthesis of the evidence, followed by recommendations that can be acted on at the point of care. It combines an advanced publishing platform with the rigor of a sophisticated editorial process managed by a faculty of accomplished physician authors and editors, renowned leaders in their specialties.

  • Find Books and Media
    • NOBLE Book Catalog

      Patrons can use the NOBLE book catalog to search for books, eBooks, DVD’s, and other materials. Searches can be limited to the Diane M. Halle Library, or can be expanded to include all libraries in the North of Boston Library Exchange. To log in to the catalog in order to place holds and view account information, patrons should use the barcode on their gull card as their username, and their student ID number as their password. If you have trouble logging in, please contact the library.

      Registered patrons can also search for items through the Commonwealth Catalog. To log in, patrons must use their gull card barcode number. The NOBLE catalog should always be searched prior to ordering items through the Commonwealth Catalog. Please note that patrons may only have 10 active requests through the Commonwealth Catalog at one time.

      Patrons can search all of our EBSCO eBook collections in one place. This includes access to three eBook collections. These collections consist of a large selection of multidisciplinary eBook titles representing a broad range of academic subject matter as well as individually curated titles to complement our academic programs.

      As part of the NOBLE network, patrons of the Halle Library have access to a number of ebooks and audiobooks through Overdrive. Registered patrons may use the barcode on their gull card to log in to Overdrive, check out titles, and place holds.

  • Publication Finder

    Publication Finder

    Publication Finder provides library patrons with a comprehensive list of all periodicals that the Halle Library has full-text access to. If patrons are searching for an article that they cannot locate in a specific database, they should search here for the title of the periodical the article is located in. Results will show if access to the journal is available in another database that the library subscribes to.

Library Features Overview

  • Comfortable, well-appointed facilities include ample seating, environmentally-friendly lighting, wireless connectivity and an open floor-plan.
  • More than 300,000 library titles in print and digital formats support the curriculum.
  • Periodical and research databases aggregate and enable access to hundreds of thousands of individual full-text journal articles across disciplines.
  • Reference librarians provide both individual assistance and group instruction to support you with your research and information needs, and to help you develop information literacy skills that will facilitate lifelong learning.
  • Interlibrary loans through member networks provide access to millions of items across the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE) and the Massachusetts Libraries Commonwealth Catalog.

Printers

Networked printers (including a color printer) are found in several locations throughout the library building, including three in the main library area and one in the Cyber Café. Patrons must have money on their Gull Cards to pay for printing.

 

Small Press Poetry Books

The library owns a number of small press books within our general Collection. This list of small press books is updated as new items are added to the collection.
