Film Screening of A Place at the Table to Take Place at Endicott

Beverly, MA --  Endicott College and Congressman John Tierney are pleased to present a film screening of A Place at the Table on Wednesday, May 1 beginning at 6:30 pm at the Rose Performance Hall, Manninen Center for the Arts, 376 Hale Street, Beverly.  A reception will be held at 6:30 pm, followed by the film screening at 7:00 pm and a panel discussion at 8:30 pm.  The event is free and open to the public.

A Place at the Table is a film about nutritional inequality in America and its impact on youth.  The documentary follows a single mother with two children in Philadelphia, a fifth-grader in Colorado and a second-grader from Mississippi, all struggling with food scarcity.  Directed by Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush, the film includes voices from expert sociologists, policy leaders, activists and Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges.

Following the film screening, Congressman Tierney, Julie LaFontaine from Open Door in Gloucester, Patricia Baker from the MA Law Reform Institute, and Endicott faculty members Michael Kilburn, Nathalie Saltikoff and Joyce Shaw will participate in a panel discussion.
