Sustainability - Energy and Climate Action
Endicott is working to use energy efficiently. Efforts include:
- retrofitting lighting throughout campus
- high-efficiency boilers
- changing from oil to gas-fired boilers
- water conservation
- demand hot water heaters
- Vending Misers
- Comprehensive controls control heat, air conditioning, and lighting
The College has undertaken an evaluation of renewable energy for campus operations. The College has measured wind resources and conducted a feasibility study of a wind turbine. In addition, the College has studied a number of sites for small and large-scale photovoltaic installations. Final results of these studies are in process.
A recent comprehensive lighting project in two buildings will reduce campus greenhouse gas emissions by 130 tons/year.
In 2010 Endicott conducted a Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
