COMMENCEMENT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When and where is graduation?
Commencement Exercises will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stadium. The ceremony will be held outside, so please monitor the weather forecasts and dress appropriately. In the event of inclement weather the Ceremony will be held in the MacDonald Gymnasium at the Post Center. Please note if held inside limited seating is available.
How many guests per graduate can attend the ceremony?
Each student will be issued:
- Two Field Seating tickets (if held inside these are the only tickets valid). Two additional Field Seating tickets if held outside and three Bleacher Seating tickets and 10 Commencement Announcements. Please note the 10 Commencement Announcements do not constitute tickets to graduation.
- Others may watch the exercises at the following locations: Post Center, Lodge, Endicott Auditorium or any television with access to ECTV Channel 73
- Additionally, Commencement will be broadcast live. This free audio and video webcasting alternative will allow family and friends to experience this memorable event. On Saturday, May 19, 2012 simply click the “LIVE” graphic link on the Commencement main page at: www.endicott.edu/commencement. For minimum computer requirements refer to the Commencement web page.
What photographic and video opportunities are available?
Each graduate will be photographed by Essex Commencement Photographers as they receive their diploma. The Company will contact graduates families at their home address with package options. Guests on the field will be allowed to utilize the designated photography area only. All other areas on the field must remain clear. Guests in the bleachers must take photos outside the fenced area.
What time should I arrive?
Seating for commencement begins at 9:00 am. All guests are strongly encouraged to be seated before 10:15 am when the processional begins.
What are the accommodations for persons with disabilities?
All guests with mobility issues must contact George Kuntz in Student Affairs at 978-232-2119 or by E-mail; gkuntz@endicott.edu by May 11, 2012 to make appropriate arrangements. Both field and bleacher seating are accessible for ticket holders. If guests must be accompanied, it must be with a ticket holder. Barrier free parking will be available for guests who have notified us according to the guidelines above.

Guests with hearing impairments requiring a sign interpreter must notify the College by April 20 to ensure appropriate services.
Where will I park?
Parking will be at a premium. Campus Safety and the Beverly Police will be on campus to direct traffic and parking. Vans will be available to assist guests from parking lots to the Stadium. There is limited barrier free parking available.
How long is the ceremony?
We anticipate the ceremony will take approximately 2 and ½ hours. All guests are asked to remain seated during the processional and recessional.
Who is the commencement speaker?
Salome Thomas-El (Author, Educator, School Prinipal)
Salome Thomas-EL, teacher and principal, is a national education expert and consultant. Throughout his career, he has helped hundreds of high-risk students overcome the barriers posed by poverty, violence, neglect, and low self-esteem. He received national acclaim as a teacher and chess coach at Vaux Middle School, where his students won world recognition. Salome is the author of the best-selling books, I Choose to Stay, about his Vaux Middle School experience, and The Immortality of Influence, which stresses the importance of leadership, mentoring, parenting and service to others. Salome speaks to groups across the country and has been featured on C-SPAN, CNN, NPR Radio, and “The Oprah Radio Network.”
Is there any event after graduation?

What time must I check out of the residence halls?
All residents must be out of College housing by 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2012.
